FuguIta 7.6†

Pre-Releases†

Following test versions are in the "test" directory of every mirror.

• FuguIta-7.6-{i386,amd64}-202410131
  FuguIta-7.6-arm64-202410141
  • the first test version for 7.6/i386 and 7.6/amd64
  • Until release 7.5, rsync, rlwrap, pv and their dependencies were installed from ports/packages in order to run FuguIta specific utilities.
    In FuguIta 7.6, they are built independently under /usr/fuguita/bin.
    Therefore, immediately after a fresh boot, /usr/local is now clear, just like bare OpenBSD.
    Note that this causes incompatibility with 7.5 or earlier, so please be careful when migrating from a pre-7.5 environment.

  • patch-001 of OpenBSD 7.6 has been applied.

  • patch-003 does not affect i386, amd64, and arm64, but the source code has been modified, so we have recompiled and replaced it.

  • Increased ramdisk root size for IBT issues on amd64 platforms. This also increased the size of the A partition in the distribution image. Therefore, the value of fuguita_sys_mb in /etc/fuguita/global.conf on all supported platforms was corrected and the image was regenerated.

  • patch-005 of OpenBSD 7.6 has been applied.

• FuguIta-7.6-*-202501012
  • Fast boot cache (/etc/fuguita/mode0symlinks.cpio.gz) was not built in, so we released a built in version.
    FuguIta generates a large number of symlinks at boot time, so LiveDVD will slow down due to head seeking. The Fast Boot Cache File reduces boot time by creating an archive of this large number of symbolic links in advance and extracting them at boot time.
